The last day to recycle your plastic waste at Holy Trinity will be Sunday, May 3.
Many thanks to the diligent ‘caring for creation’ efforts of Holy Trinity members who joined with several local organizations to help the Manasquan High School Environmental Club reclaim close to 4,000 pounds of plastic trash, keeping it from landfills. Along the way, the students’ hard work earned two Trex benches for the school … go team! Now, after three years, the Club is ending its program on June 1.
A big shout out and gratitude for all who helped our local HS students achieve their goals, and most importantly, the environment. Going forward, many grocery stores and retail outlets like Kohl's have stretchy plastic recycling. We also need to let our community leaders know of the need for plastic recycling for it to become an effort at the municipal level. The power of change lies in the hands of the people! (Thank you, Leslie Smith, for promoting this effort so beautifully and for lugging bag after bag of plastic to the high school!)
