U.S. surgeon general Vivek Murthy placed a spotlight on America’s problem of loneliness when he declared the issue an epidemic in the spring of 2023. Murthy explained that loneliness is far more than “just a bad feeling” and represents a “major public health risk for both individuals and society.” In response, the Justice and Peace team will present a program about the growing problem of loneliness. The presentation will include viewing the documentary, “How We Became the Loneliest Generation”; a panel discussion will follow, featuring two mental health professionals, Rev. Joe Gratzel and Susan Nolan, LCSW, plus a Q&A period. Please join us in Fellowship Hall to discuss how loneliness affects people in different age groups and learn a variety of suggestions on how to improve our quality of life. All are welcome.
